The simple syrup isn’t traditional, but that’s how I learned it, and I like the touch of additional sweetness.
- 2 oz Cognac
- ¾ oz orange liqueur
- ¾ oz lemon juice
- ¼ oz simple syrup
- orange twist, discarded
Shake vigorously with ice. Strain into a coupe glass.
Express the oils from an orange twist over the drink, then discard the peel.
