Sidecar

A good sidecar requires decent quality cognac. A cheap brandy won’t cut it here.

  • 1½ oz cognac
  • 1 oz dry curaçao
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • garnish: sugared rim and an orange twist, discarded

Rim a coupe glass with sugar.

Shake vigorously with ice. Strain into the prepared coupe.

Express the oils from an orange twist over the drink, then discard the peel.
