Growing Old and Dying Happy…
The full name of this drink is Growing Old and Dying Happy is a Hope, Not an Inevitability.
- absinthe rinse
- 2 oz Cynar
- 1 oz rye whiskey
- 1 pinch salt
- 5 lemon peels
- garnish: lemon peel
Add a small splash of absinthe to a coupe and swirl to coat the glass. Pour out the excess.
Add Cynar, rye, salt, and five lemon peels to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled (a regal stir—the peels express oils as you stir). Strain into the prepared coupe.
Garnish with an additional lemon peel.
